Why and how Hypnotherapy works and can it work for me ?

For Positive Change

The subconscious part of the brain is where all our human instincts of survival unconsciously operate such as breathing, appetite, sleep and the well known fight or flight response which is a physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived danger or threat.

Through influences such as communication, family, life experiences etc we have created our identity, personality and ways of thinking which affect our behaviour.

Unfortunately the instinctive behaviour programmed for our survival can, through our learned experiences, store negative emotions that we no longer need causing us unwarranted fear, anxiety and self-doubt - a learned reaction we weren't born with and therefore can be eradicated.

Hypnosis is a purely natural occurrence that we have all experienced.  For example, lying on a beach, pleasantly aware of all the sounds and senses, such as children playing in the distance, laughter, the lapping of the waves, a soft breeze on your face yet at the same time drifting into a wonderful relaxed state of body and mind.

Without the over analytical thinking part of our conscious minds, the relaxed mind can be more easily influenced for positive change.  Hypnotherapy is a safe effective tool to communicate with the subconscious in order to eliminate the negative unwanted thoughts and behaviours that are no longer required.

Can it Help You?

Hypnotherapy can treat so many issues once all medical reasons have been ruled out.  Compared to traditional Psychotherapy/Counselling, its impact is so much quicker in reaching resolution. However, unlike counselling a person does not even have to divulge any information if they do not wish to, not even to the Hypnotherapist but can reach a resolution securely within themselves.

Also by utilising various techniques such as CBT, (cognitive behavioral techniques) or NLP (neuro-linguisitic programming) plus positive suggestion to treat the intrusive thoughts and physical responses the subconscious can be reprogrammed to obliterate the unwanted fixed ideas that have fuelled the anxiety, leading to a more productive and enjoyable life.
